01Is plug-in or hardwired towel warmer better?

The advantage of plug-in models is obvious: installation is easy, and you only need an available power outlet. For hardwired units, you will need the technical drawings of the towel warmer during the early renovation stage, so you can reserve wiring and rough-in fittings at the correct position. It requires advance planning. Hardwired or rough-in versions feature a cleaner and more attractive appearance, yet they need to be planned ahead of time. We most recommend rough-in installation, as it is more standardized, easy to install, and simple for later maintenance and servicing, with higher safety in daily use. Hardwired direct-wiring installation is an alternative if rough-in is not feasible. If you prefer not to modify your walls, we also offer plug-in versions. They come with an exposed power cord but require very little installation work.

02What should I confirm before hard wiring a towel warmer?

You need to confirm the future mounting position of the towel warmer and the location of pre-reserved wiring. Make sure the reserved electrical wire is properly grounded. We provide positioning drawings for hardwired and rough-in installations. You may attach the drawing to the wall to locate the correct position for wiring or rough-in fittings. You can also find detailed drawings in the specification sheet on each product page. Always reserve wiring strictly according to the drawing specifications. Besides, check the wall load-bearing capacity. The wall should support at least 30 kg. Once you have confirmed all positions, rough-in preparations and wall strength, you are ready for hardwired installation.

03Why do we need to select the appropriate length of the rough-in wire?

During installation, a junction box needs to be reserved, and the wires from the rough-in part shall be routed to the junction box. The junction box can be placed at any position, so the corresponding wire length should be selected according to the relative position between the rough-in part and the junction box.Similarly, if you choose the XA or XM thermostat, which is equipped with a back box, you also need to route the wires of the back box to the junction box. The proper wire length for the XA/XM back box shall be determined based on the relative position between the back box and the junction box. Please refer to our user manual and technical guidelines for details.

04Do I need an electrician to install a heated towel warmer?

We recommend hiring a local licensed electrician for installation. However, if you have some hands-on experience, you can install it by yourself by following our instructional videos and user manuals, especially for plug-in and rough-in versions. For direct hardwired installation, we strongly recommend that you hire a professional electrician. In addition, two people are suggested for mounting the main unit on-site during installation.

05What accessories will we receive once the order is confirmed, and what is the lead time?

Once the order is confirmed, we will first ship the rough-in parts in advance to avoid delaying wall and electrical construction. If you have also ordered the XA or XM thermostat, the corresponding back boxes will also be sent ahead of time. In addition, we will provide a positioning template to help you locate the rough-in parts and hardware wires. Approximately 12-15 weeks later, you will receive the customized main body of the product. This is the entire shipping process.

06How high should a heated towel warmer be mounted on the wall?

The mounting height generally depends on your actual bathroom conditions, such as whether there are obstructions above or below the installation wall. As a general principle, the towel warmer should be installed at a height that makes it easy and comfortable for users of different heights to hang and pick up towels. We do not recommend mounting it too low, as long towels may drag on the floor. Also, avoid installing the towel warmer in areas with direct water spray, such as positions directly facing the shower head inside the shower enclosure, to prevent potential safety risks.

07Do heated towel racks get dangerously hot?

Our products are equipped with overheat protection. If the towel warmer cannot dissipate heat under unexpected conditions and the temperature keeps rising, the overheat protection and temperature-sensor-based thermostat will keep the temperature within a safe range to prevent burns. The surface temperature is generally limited to below 167°F. Therefore, always choose a towel warmer with overheat protection for better safety. When purchasing on the market, please choose carefully and avoid products without built-in overheat protection. When using the towel warmer, do not wrap it tightly with thick textiles with no ventilation, which will trap heat. Heat build-up under such conditions may damage fabrics and even cause burns.

08What certification do your towel warmers have?

Our towel warmers sold in North America are certified to UL standards for the United States and Canada.

09Can I install a heated towel warmer in a shower, wet room or damp environment?

Our heated towel warmers can be installed in damp bathroom environments. However, we strongly do not recommend installing them where they will be exposed to direct water spray. For plug-in models, avoid locations where water may splash onto the power outlet. Some moisture and humidity is acceptable, but heavy direct water spraying should be avoided to prevent safety hazards.

10Are your towel warmers 110V or 220V and do they need to have a dedicated GFCI circuit?

We offer both 120-volt and 220-volt versions of our products. Please specify your required voltage when placing your order. From a safety perspective, we recommend using a dedicated GFCI circuit for the towel warmer, which will provide an extra level of safety.
